Pyne’s Preserves are a small local Irish business offering an interesting and unique mix of sweet and savoury jams, marmalades, salad dressings, pickles and other preserves to your table. All of our produce is handmade in small batches using unique recipes created during our development process and various flavour combination tests. Their ethos is to challenge people’s taste buds and to encourage them to discover and try new food combinations. We consider that Pyne’s Preserves aren’t just for toast!
Pyne’s Preserves was founded by Andrew and Caroline Pyne in 2019 in Coolaney, Co. Sligo. Since then, they bring you the finest and unique range of artisan jams and other preserves made with natural ingredients sourced locally.
The idea for Pyne’s Preserves was circulating in Andrew’s and Caroline’s minds when they were volunteering and producing dressings, relishes and sauces for sandwiches for the local community pop up café. They began with 4 simple chilli jam recipes and over a short space of time grew into a business that currently has over 20 different preserves to choose from, with the addition of new seasonal flavours.
Andrew hails originally from the South Wales valleys and moved to Ireland in 2001. He has always had a keen interest in cooking from a very young age and showed this by being the only boy in his junior school to enter the cooking competitions. Andrew completed formal training and various cooking roles before changing career. However, cooking and trying new flavours never was too far away from Andrew’s heart along with continuing to cook by entertaining family and friends at home by trying out his new recipes. Caroline originally from Drumfin, Co. Sligo is a part of a farming family. Growing up close to nature, farm animals and organic products like her family’s own eggs, milk or potatoes, Caroline has developed a love for everything natural when it comes to food. She learnt how to cook at an early age and her favourite meals were the ones she could experiment with flavours. Both Caroline and Andrew have strong passion for discovering and exploring different kinds of food and have a tendency to pair unique flavours that at the first glance shouldn’t work, however when you give them a try, they really actually do!
The world is full of endless flavour combinations that Pyne’s Preserves continue to explore and introduce to the local Sligo community on a regular basis.
Our preserves are born out of a passion for cooking and a love for food. We sell our products at farmers markets in County Sligo every second weekend.
